MADE BY THE ORIGINAL MAKER – Produced by the same company, in the same Birmingham factory, on the same machines and using the same dies as the wartime batch. Not a lookalike made from a photograph.
BRASS AND STEEL, AS ISSUED – Built from brass and steel exactly as the originals were, so it has the weight, the action and the sharp double crack of the issued article rather than a soft modern click.
CARRIED ON D-DAY, 6 JUNE 1944 – Issued to Allied airborne troops for silent recognition in the dark as they landed in Normandy on the night of 5–6 June 1944: one click to challenge, two clicks to answer.
WITH A CORD HOLE – A small hole is drilled through the body so the clicker can be run onto a cord, a lanyard or a wrist loop and kept to hand rather than loose in a pocket. Cord not included.
AS FEATURED IN THE LONGEST DAY – The cricket is familiar to anyone who has seen the classic D-Day film The Longest Day, or Band of Brothers, which makes it the natural gift for an airborne re-enactor, militaria collector or military enthusiast.
